Is there a room block?

The room block is the 11th-15th of March, 2026 and if you need dates outside of that please call the hotel and ask for the reservations department. Global Reservations Line: 1-800-233-1234
Please note there are very few nights on the 11th in the block, but again if you need any dates outside of the block make sure to book first and then you can add extra nights on. 
You do NOT have to pay up front for your room. They just need a card on file for the reservation. Then at check in you can change your form of payment.

Is there an Age policy?
18+ for author convention signings.
NO MINORS ALLOWED and this does include babies of any age. There is a mothers room(for breastfeeding persons) at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans that is located(outside of the rented event space) on the 4th floor that you are welcome to use. But absolutely no one under the age of 18 is allowed inside of the event rooms.
21+ for the ball (our venue requires that attendees are 21+ due to alcohol sales). 
*This is per contract with the venue, we cannot change or make exceptions to these terms. We do apologize for any inconveniences and appreciate your continued support for our event. You must present your ID for entry.
Acceptable forms of ID
Official Government Issued ID, Official Government Issued License, and Official Government Issued Passports. Out of state ID’s have to be an official government issued ID, they cannot be a duplicate or a copy. The Royale does not take ID’s from out of the country, they would need to be your passport. We do not take copies of any form of ID.
Do I have to go to registration/The convention?
Yes, you must complete registration to obtain your pass for the ball. If you do not go to registration you will not have access to the ball and/or brunch (if your ticket tier includes it).
Can i bring a cart to the convention?
Yes but it has to be the right size. Absolutely NO wagons and dimension’s need to be within 18”x18”
here are the steps we are taking to ensure our guests with accommodations are able to enjoy the event❤️
*The Hyatt Regency New Orleans is equipped with mobility aide-accessible entrances, rooms and elevators.
*We will have an ADA line for registration to ensure attendees who are unable to be in lines for extended periods are registered quickly.
*Unique unobtrusive wristbands to signify anyone requesting accommodations so Shadows & Seduction event staff and volunteers can ensure we meet the accommodations request respectfully and quickly.
*Our event is using an app based line queue system that eliminates the need to wait in long lines to see authors/artists/vendors/narrators.
*Shadows & Seduction is invested in everyone’s safety and comfort, this is why we have expanded space. There is additional space to minimize congestion in the aisles to allow mobility aids to move freely. Also providing additional personal space to lessen the potential for crowding.
*There is designated seating at all of our panels for those needing space for their mobility aids and/or those who may need to sit closer to the speaker to adequately hear and see.
*The Hyatt Regency New Orleans has a designated Mother's Room on the 4th floor, when you check in you can ask the front desk for the code.
*There is a separate quiet room available for any attendees who may not be staying at the hotel or who needs a quiet space to rest and step away from the crowd.
To help us make your experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible, we invite attendees with accessibility needs to complete our Accessibility Needs Form. This allows our team to prepare in advance and ensure you feel supported throughout the weekend.

If applicable, PayPal offers payment plans. Also, tickets may be purchased as a gift in the recipient's full legal name. Tickets must match the presenters legal ID.

Can I purchase a ball Ticket only?
Unfortunately, we cannot offer ball only tickets. We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences this may cause, but we hope to see you soon!

how many tickets can I purchase?
We sincerely appreciate your interest. To ensure an optimal experience for our valued customers, we have limited the sale of tickets to a maximum of FOUR per transaction. Thank you for your understanding and support.
Will there be any refunds?
All sales are considered final, and no refunds will be issued. However, we understand that circumstances may change, and therefore, we will have a resell thread on our Facebook group. This thread serves as a platform where you can arrange to sell your ticket for the original purchase price. We greatly appreciate your cooperation and understanding in this matter.
Will there be non-alcoholic options available?
We are delighted to announce that we will be offering an exquisite selection of craft mocktails for your enjoyment. Indulge in the art of sinning responsibly as you savor these delectable non-alcoholic creations. Join us in elevating your experience with our enticing mocktail offerings.
What is your covid/mask policy?
We would like to assure you that we prioritize the safety and well-being of our attendees. Therefore, we will diligently adhere to the current CDC guidelines for New Orleans, LA, taking into account any updates or changes that may occur. In the event that COVID policies impact our event, we will promptly inform all participants and provide the necessary guidance. We kindly request your cooperation and responsible behavior in this matter.
Am I allowed to bring bags/purses into the ball?
For security reasons, we regret to inform you that backpacks of any nature will not be permitted within the BALL venue. Additionally, we kindly ask that all attendees be aware that purses are subject to bag checks as part of our security measures. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining a safe environment for all.

Is there a dress code for the ball?
We invite you to embrace your inner (star)light or reveal your unique darkness as we gather together. We encourage you to express yourself through your attire, whether it be in the Shadows and Seduction themes or any other creative choice that resonates with you. Feel free to don a stunning ball gown, captivating cosplay, or even a stylish pantsuit - the possibilities are endless. We welcome and appreciate all forms of self-expression, without any expectations for extravagance. Let your imagination soar and join us in making this event a memorable celebration of individuality.
What is the policy on Smoking/Vaping?
Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited within the premises. Any individuals found in violation of this policy will be promptly asked to leave without refund or possibility of readmission. However, readmission is permitted solely for the purpose of addressing this matter.
Is onsite parking available at Hyatt Regency New Orleans? How much is parking?
Valet parking is available for $52-57 (plus taxes) per night from Hyatt Regency New Orleans.
Oh no! I don’t have space for my books in my carry on, what do I do?
We offer the convenience of an on-site FedEx office within the convention venue/hotel block. Additionally, there are UPS shipping centers located in close proximity to address your shipping needs. Please don't hesitate to visit one of the FedEx office or UPS locations to assist you with your shipping needs throughout the event.
What are common transportation options?
Closest airport to fly into: Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY)
Ride-sharing services are popular in the city (Uber and Lyft), providing a comfortable and user-friendly transportation alternative.
Can I ship packages to Hyatt Regency New Orleans in advance of my stay?
